Murder Case on Ekmalyan Street Solved
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has uncovered several details regarding the murder that occurred in a residential building on Ekmalyan Street.
On March 19, 2020, at 05:20 AM, authorities received a report of gunshots from one of the residential buildings on Ekmalyan Street in Yerevan. An investigative-operational group that arrived at the scene discovered the body of a resident born in 1973, who had sustained gunshot wounds.
During the preliminary investigation, urgent investigative and procedural actions were carried out, including an examination of the crime scene, during which a submachine gun, handgun, fired cartridges, and bullets were found.
It was established that on the same day, the son-in-law of the deceased illegally fired shots using a firearm, thereby intentionally taking the life of his father-in-law, who resided at the mentioned address.
Based on sufficient evidence, charges were brought against the individual for committing the acts outlined in Article 104 (murder), part 2, point 6, and Article 235 (illegally acquiring, possessing, or carrying firearms, ammunition, explosives, or explosive devices) part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code. The accused has been taken into custody as a preventive measure. The investigation is ongoing.
