VIDEO: Police Discover Illegal Firearm and Timber

On March 9, around 4 PM, police officers from the Tavush division, as part of an operation aimed at detecting and preventing environmental violations, transported a 63-year-old resident of Artzvaberd village and his vehicle loaded with timber to a specially protected area.

While documenting the volume of timber, officers discovered a single-barreled smoothbore hunting rifle of the "Izh" type, 16 mm caliber, along with 10 cartridges and 3 spent shells in the vehicle. The driver claimed that the weapon belonged to him but failed to provide any documents confirming its legality.

Expert examinations have been appointed, and materials are being prepared on the incident.
