Police Release Footage from Tragic Incident in Gyumri

On March 5, around 14:50, the emergency medical services received a call reporting that a 13-year-old girl with bodily injuries had been transported to the "Mother and Child Austrian" hospital from 14 Proshyan Street in Gyumri. The ambulance staff also informed that the girl's mother was found dead at home.

Operational investigative groups were dispatched to the scene. Upon examining the body of the 43-year-old woman, it became clear that she had suffered injuries. A criminal case was initiated at the territorial investigation department, and detectives from the Mush division, in collaboration with the officers of the Shirak regional department, uncovered several circumstances of the incident, revealing the crime.

According to preliminary data, the woman was beaten by someone close to her during a quarrel over household issues. The 28-year-old man also struck her daughter who intervened in the dispute. Due to the bodily injuries sustained, the woman died.

The 28-year-old resident of Shirakatsy Street in Gyumri was located and taken to the police department of Mush, then presented to the territorial investigation department where he was arrested. Expert examinations have been appointed. The preliminary investigation of the initiated criminal case is ongoing.
