Tragic Incident in Artsakh: 49-Year-Old Man Returning from 'Prisyag' Dies

A tragic incident occurred in the Republic of Artsakh yesterday evening. At approximately 22:35, the Vardenis police department received a call from the Vardenis medical center indicating that an ambulance crew had transported a citizen to the Vardenis morgue with a diagnosis of "biological death." According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Vardenis police, led by department head R. Ginyan, immediately went to the hospital.

The police determined that the deceased was Hrant Hovhannisyan, a 49-year-old resident of Hrazdan city in the Kotayk region. He had suddenly passed away on the 115th km of the Martakert-Vardenis highway around 21:00 today. According to G. Shamshyan's sources, the deceased had been participating in a military oath ceremony in the Republic of Artsakh and was returning at the time of his death.

On the way, due to heavy snowfall, a large number of vehicles were unable to move, and a few citizens had attempted to push the vehicles out of the snowdrifts. It was during this effort that Hovhannisyan's health deteriorated, leading to his untimely death.

According to G. Shamshyan, materials regarding the incident will be transferred to the police department of the Shahumyan region of the Republic of Artsakh for further investigation.
