Conscription Officer Assaults Commanding Officer in Military Registration Office

A conscription officer has been charged with committing hooliganism with violence.

According to a statement from the Investigative Committee, during the preliminary investigation of a criminal case being conducted by the fourth garrison investigative department of the RA Military Investigative Main Department, factual data was obtained indicating that on December 4, 2019, around 14:30, conscript D.M. had appeared at the RA Ministry of Defense's Yerevan Military Recruitment Office No. 1 to submit documents related to the conscription. He was subsequently reprimanded by the head of the conscription group for his aggressive behavior. Following this, D.M. began to make noise and shouted sexual insults towards the employees of the military commissariat in the corridor of the administrative building, publicly visible to other citizens. After that, he struck the head of the conscription group in the face, causing bodily harm.

Based on the accumulated evidence, D.M. has been charged under Part 2 of Article 258 of the RA Criminal Code (Hooliganism — grossly violating public order, expressed through open disrespect toward society, accompanied by violence against an individual).

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
