Car Accident Near Lars Checkpoint: One Dead and Injured
On February 4, around 02:00, information was received from the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia that an accident occurred near the Lars checkpoint, injuring Russian citizens.
On February 5, at 10:00, contact was made with the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Department, which reported that on February 3, at around 18:55 local time, an emergency call was received regarding an accident on the Kobi - Gudauri highway (Kazbegi region), near the first tunnel.
It was found that a Toyota vehicle had veered off the roadway and rolled down into the ravine. The driver (Zurab A., born in 1979, a Russian citizen) was hospitalized with a lower limb fracture, and one passenger (identity not yet established) died on the spot. Another passenger, Marina K. (born in 1996, a Russian citizen), was uninjured.
