We Hope Edmond Maroukian Will Present Facts: Hakob Karapetyan

The spokesperson for the Mayor of Yerevan, Hakob Karapetyan, addressed certain criticisms aimed at the municipality on his Facebook page.

"Exactly five days ago, we reminded through a public statement that the MP and leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, Edmond Maroukian, in December, threw into the media a false thesis, claiming that the Yerevan municipality 'did not receive a KAMAZ as a gift, but took money instead,' hinting at supposed corruption risks involved.

We published Mayor Marutyan's appeal to E. Maroukian, urging him to deny this blatant falsehood or attempt to present evidence. However, to date, there has been no response from the leader of the LHK.

Nevertheless, we hope that Edmond Maroukian, as a responsible political figure, will show respect for his audience and provide clarification regarding his aforementioned statement by presenting confirming or refuting facts.

The same applies to the leader of the Yerevan Council's 'Light' faction, David Khajakyan, who, essentially following the example set by his political leader, repeated the same false thesis on-air (details in the comments)."
