Resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue is a Priority for the 2020 OSCE Presidency, Says OSCE Chair
The OSCE Chair, Albanian Prime Minister and Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Edi Rama, has stated that efforts aimed at resolving conflicts are a priority during Albania's presidency of the OSCE.
“The efforts of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group towards resolving conflicts, particularly the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the Geneva international discussions and related mechanisms, as well as the Transnistrian process, will also be paramount on the agenda of the presidency,” said Rama in his speech addressing the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.
He added that the motto of Albania's presidency, which is “carrying out our responsibilities together,” embodies three important elements. “First, the importance of respecting our common obligations. We cannot reliably undertake new commitments if we have failed to meet existing ones. Second, there is a need to focus on the valuable tools we have within the OSCE. Third, our responsibilities must be shared by the 57 participating states so that the presidency can make progress on the overall agenda,” emphasized Rama.
