US Bans Flights in Iranian and Iraqi Airspace
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States has prohibited American airlines from entering the airspace over Iraq, Iran, the Gulf of Oman, and the waters between Iran and Saudi Arabia, as reported by ermenihaber.
This decision comes in the wake of Iranian missile strikes on a U.S. military base in Iraq. American authorities have assessed the current situation as risky for U.S. civil aviation operations in the mentioned areas.
The rising political tensions and the likelihood of military confrontations in the Middle East have prompted U.S. officials to take preventative measures. The flight ban applies universally to all airlines and carriers registered in the United States.
