NSS Denies: No Sociological Survey Conducted on Pashinyan's Ratings
The National Security Service (NSS) has denied the publication by 168.am regarding a sociological survey allegedly conducted by the NSS, which claimed that the rating of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was low at 19.5 percent. This was announced by the NSS press service.
“The information published by 168.am, stating that the National Security Service conducted a sociological survey resulting in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s rating being low at 19.5 percent, is fictitious and bears no relation to reality,” the NSS statement said.
Moreover, according to reliable operational data available to the NSS, a closed sociological survey was conducted last month on behalf of certain representatives of Armenia's former ruling elite, with the data intended for use in their future activities. According to the survey results, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's rating was record-high (as high as in May 2018), which has caused deep disappointment among representatives of the previous government.
We consider the publication by 168.am to be an expression of that disappointment. It should also be noted that the NSS's data on the Prime Minister's ratings is corroborated by a comparison and analysis of the results from three recently published sociological surveys,” the NSS statement added.
