Fire Breaks Out on Vanadzor-Alaverdi Road, Contained but Operations Halted Due to Darkness

On December 25, at 03:35, firefighting operations were resumed with 42 firefighters dispatched to the scene.

To carry out reconnaissance of the area, an operational group from the Lori Regional Rescue Department, along with specialists from the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center, also headed to the site.

The fire was contained by 17:44. Approximately 30 hectares of forest and 40 hectares of grassy area were burned. At 17:50, firefighting operations were halted due to the darkness.

It is reminded that on December 24, at 09:33, the “911” service received information about a fire that had broken out in the forest area located south of the 15th kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway.
