Ministry's Advice on Pre-holiday Purchases
The Ministry of Health of Armenia provides several recommendations regarding pre-holiday purchases to avoid poisoning. “Armenpress” presents the message from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
“Shopping for the holidays is already beginning. Everyone is wondering what to buy, which products are necessary, what is most important, and how to avoid poisoning. The Ministry of Health offers a range of advice on these questions.
It is necessary to:
- Make purchases from stores rather than unregulated sales points such as the street and areas adjacent to markets,
- Buy fresh, undamaged products,
- Prepare salads, meat dishes, and pastries at home in small quantities while adhering to hygiene rules,
- Pay attention to the storage conditions, shelf life, and appearance of products when purchasing,
- Utilize factory-produced foods that have undergone certain safety processing, such as pasteurized milk,
- Avoid buying and consuming mushrooms of unknown origin that haven't been verified. Purchase mushrooms only from the market and stores provided they have the relevant documentation from the competent authority,
- If buying ready-made dishes, check the preparation and selling dates, storage conditions, and temperature.
