Razmik Abrahamyan Will Remain Free as Court Rejects Detention Request

The director of the Republican Maternity Hospital and the main suspect in the illegal adoption case, Razmik Abrahamyan, will remain free as the court rejected the detention request. The decision was announced by Judge Davit Balayan at the Shengavit court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan.

Razmik Abrahamyan was present at the court session. He declined to answer questions from NEWS.am, but his lawyer Samvel Dilbandyan expressed confidence that the court would take into account Razmik Abrahamyan's age and health condition. “The law of criminal procedure stipulates that during the application of precautionary measures, we must consider both the severity of the crime as well as age, health, family, and other circumstances,” he said.
