Police Transitioning to Enhanced Service Ahead of Holidays
On December 20, a working meeting was held at the police headquarters, led by Acting Police Chief Arman Sargsyan. Members of the police board, and heads of departments and services of the central apparatus participated.
Welcoming those present, Arman Sargsyan instructed to transition to enhanced service starting from December 21, in order to ensure the safety of citizens during pre-holiday and holiday days. The acting police chief noted that police officers on external service would be joined by personnel from other police units, and together they should do everything possible to ensure the safety of New Year and Christmas celebrations.
Officers dealing with minor offenses were tasked with implementing preventive measures to keep children away from antisocial acts, clarifying the dangers of various types of fireworks used by minors.
The traffic police were instructed to be intolerant and not show leniency towards violating drivers. Those who violate traffic regulations should be identified and held administratively accountable.
