Buses Will Serve the City Until New Transport Network is Implemented: Karapetyan
The press secretary of Yerevan's mayor, Hakob Karapetyan, addressed the recently imported buses from Germany on his Facebook page.
“The two city buses imported by a private company, whose photos have been circulated online today, will operate on routes coordinated with the city hall. Moreover, they will serve the city until the new transportation network is implemented—during the interim period.
If you recall, this August, Mayor Marutyan met with private passenger carriers and suggested that, until the new route network is established, the vehicle fleet should be updated to continue servicing existing routes while also acquiring vehicles that meet the requirements of the new network and participating in servicing the new route network (link in the comments). The import of these buses is, in fact, a response to that proposal. It is important to know this, because general requirements will be established for the buses to be acquired for the new transport network, including branding (color, design, etc.),” he wrote.
