Erdogan Threatens to Close Access to Military Bases for the US
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that Turkish authorities will close access to the Incirlik (Adana province) and Kurecik (Malatya province) military bases for the United States if necessary, especially in the event of the imposition of anti-Turkish sanctions by the US. This was reported by Haberturk.
Erdogan emphasized that Ankara has the right to deny Americans access to these two military facilities. He stated, “If it becomes necessary, we will close both Incirlik and Kurecik. The final decision regarding the extension of US access to these two bases is Turkey’s right. When we see fit, we will close the bases for them.”
