“When you cross red lines, we should expect that Samson will give a commensurate response.” This was stated today, December 12, by Hamazasp Danielyan, a member of the “My Step” parliamentary faction, during a speech in the National Assembly, citing the film “Apricot.”

Hamazasp Danielyan initially compared the ongoing discussion in the National Assembly to the “Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful,” calling the opposition resourceful. He then made comparisons to the film “Apricot.”

“Do you remember the film ‘Apricot’? Do you remember Samson—the strong man and Gaspar? Gaspar comes and asks Samson to let him be beaten because he has boys, not to be disgraced. Sometimes it seems to me that the opposition is that Gaspar. They say, ‘Let’s say rude things from this podium, then when we respond, they say it’s intolerance.’ It’s the same as if Gaspar calls the police and says he’s being beaten. Let’s know within this beautiful cooperation what those red lines are that we should not cross,” he said.

Gagik Tsarukyan Bloc MP Arman Abovyan responded to Danielyan’s speech: “I find it interesting that you came out here to talk about correctness, making comparisons with movies. I assure you, I have watched other movies besides ‘Apricot’ in my life; if I start making comparisons, the situation will explode. Did you really need a thousand years for this? Do you feel like Samson? What was the point? Yes, we are the resourceful ones, and I wish you to be happy.”

It is noted that the government has presented four loan agreements worth over 120 million euros for discussion in the National Assembly, which are expected to be received by the end of the year. These loans are necessary to cover the budget deficit for 2019.
