Loryetzyan's Responsibilities Distributed Among Different Officials: Khdjryan
Days ago, Gevorg Loryetzyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, along with his driver and the president of the 'Lokomotiv' football club, Hrachya Kananyan, were arrested on suspicion of bribery.
Auroranews.am contacted the press secretary of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Angela Khdjryan, to clarify whether Loryetzyan's powers had been terminated or if any responsibilities had been reassigned to anyone else.
In response to the question of whether discussions were ongoing within the ministry about who could replace Loryetzyan, Angela Khdjryan stated, “Loryetzyan's responsibilities have been distributed among different officials.”
Khdjryan added that at present, she could not disclose the names of those who will undertake the tasks previously carried out by Loryetzyan.
It is noteworthy that according to preliminary data obtained by the NSS, Loryetzyan’s deputy has helped a businessman who is the president of one of the football clubs operating in Armenia, as well as the actual head of several supplier companies, in competitions announced for the procurement of sports equipment and uniforms for the needs of institutions under the ministry. In exchange for winning these competitions, the deputy minister had, with the help of his driver, arranged to receive a particularly large bribe.
