No Individuals Arrested in Wiretapping Case of Vanetsyan and Khachatryan, Investigative Committee
Politik.am reported that it has managed to clarify exclusive details. "According to our sources, the person who conducted the wiretapping was arrested by the NSS months ago. The arrested individual is a citizen of the Russian Federation and is ethnically Russian. It is currently unclear why the authorities are keeping this information secret. We were unable to contact the NSS press center, and we currently do not have further details," the website stated.
The spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, Naira Harutyunyan, addressed the publication. "The www.Politik.am website has just published news titled 'The person who wiretapped Vanetsyan and Khachatryan has been arrested: he is a citizen of the Russian Federation'. In connection with this publication, we inform that there is no person with a procedural status of a suspect in the criminal case regarding the wiretapping and publication of the phone conversation of former NSS head Arthur Vanetsyan and Special Investigative Service head Sasun Khachatryan. No one has been arrested in connection with the criminal case. We urge our colleagues at Politik.am to refrain from publishing information that does not correspond to reality," Harutyunyan wrote.
