Edmon Marukyan Proposes Creation of Parliamentary Inquiry Committee
Edmon Marukyan wrote on his Facebook page: “A Parliamentary Inquiry Committee will be established. A letter has just been sent to the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, signed by the members of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ and ‘Prosperous Armenia’ factions regarding the legality and corruption risks associated with the transfer of vehicles and other property to the Yerevan community by various entities since September 2018. This includes contracts for the provision of services, as well as the transfer of other immovable or movable property related to the community, including property rights, non-property rights, construction permits, and the granting of concessions.
According to Article 108, part 1, the inquiry committee will be established by force of law. The inquiry committee will be co-chaired by Ani Samsonyan from the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ faction. We believe that the ruling party should also be interested in the establishment of this committee if they are indeed confident in their mayor's compliance with the law.”
