We Don't Want to Appoint Our Like-minded Politician as NSS Director and Immediately Grant Them General Rank - Mirzoyan

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, interprets the rejection of the bill proposed by the LHK faction quite differently, following its approval on the first reading.

According to Mirzoyan, the issue is contradictory to the Constitution. He stated that his faction was in favor of further developing the bill, which is why they voted in favor during the first reading. However, he noted that it later became clear that there was no legal solution, as the heads of the NSS and the police must be generals in any case.

“We do not want to appoint any of our like-minded political associates, for example, as the NSS director, and immediately grant them the rank of general to make them eligible,” said Mirzoyan.
