Russia Will Continue to Support Peaceful Resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict – Russian Foreign Ministry
Russia will continue to support the peaceful resolution process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was stated in the commentary of the Russian Foreign Ministry following Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's visit to Azerbaijan on December 2-3.
“Russia continues to play an active role in mediating efforts aimed at resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is one of the priorities of Russia's foreign policy and is constantly under the attention of the President of the Russian Federation,” the commentary reads.
It also emphasizes that the Russian Foreign Ministry expresses its position based on the fact that the conflict can only be resolved through political and diplomatic means, and that Russia will continue to support the resolution of the conflict both within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and through dialogue with the states, considering Russia's close relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
