National Assembly Gives Negative Conclusion on Bill to Make Heads of NSS and Police Political Positions
During a meeting of the National Assembly's Legal Affairs Committee, the bill proposed by the "Bright Armenia" faction regarding amendments to the laws on "Service in the National Security Bodies," "Amendments to the RA Law," "Service in the Police," and "Additions to the RA Law on Public Service" received a negative conclusion.
It is noteworthy that the bill suggested removing the positions of the Director of the National Security Service and the Chief of Police from the lists of police positions and positions of national security personnel, categorizing them as political positions. The bill also sought to impose the same requirements for those nominated for these positions as are set for candidates for Parliament.
