Poverty Rate Decreased by 8.6% Compared to 2017, Tunyan
Armenian National Assembly member Babken Tunyan wrote on his Facebook page: "According to the data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the poverty rate in 2018 has decreased by 8.6% or 2.2 percentage points compared to 2017, and stands at 23.5%.
23.5% means that nearly one in four people in the country lived below the upper poverty line of 42,621 AMD per month. The graph below shows the three poverty lines based on the 2009 methodology, calculated at 2018 prices."
