Video: It’s Allowed, I Will Take Petrosyan Gevorg's Pain - Tsarukyan on Argument in Parliament
“It’s allowed, I will take Petrosyan Gevorg's pain, who fully represents us as an Armenian Christian nation, we are the first Christian nation – family, sanctity, church, Bible, it is unacceptable for us that homosexuals might adopt a child and raise that child. We are a traditional nation, and that is unacceptable for the ‘Prosperous Armenia’ party starting from Tsarukyan,” said Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), during a press briefing with journalists, referring to the controversial legislative initiative by his party member Gevorg Petrosyan.
When asked whether he denies the news circulating since yesterday that BHK MP Gevorg Petrosyan was removed from the National Assembly following his speech, he stated, “I have no problem denying anything. You can all watch; there was nothing offensive to anyone, the main BHK principles, approach, and point of view were very respectfully presented by Petrosyan Gevorg. You can switch it on seven times and watch, he said before the speech that he has no desire to offend anyone. We were in a meeting, we went to the meeting together; otherwise, people are making conclusions and telling stories; there is no such thing.”
Discussing the reasons behind the uproar following the speech, Tsarukyan added, “There was no uproar from our side; you can ask those who were making noise.”
