Babayan Has Suspect Status, No Change in Status Reported: Defense Attorney
The former President of the National Assembly, Ara Babayan, has been declared a suspect, according to his defense attorney Aram Vardevanyan, speaking with reporters near the Special Investigative Service (SIS).
"We are still in the preliminary investigation phase, and the mode of confidentiality is in effect. Allow me, based on that, to refrain from answering many questions and commenting. The SIS had announced a few days ago that Ara Babayan has suspect status, and there is no change in his status. Investigative actions are underway, and questioning is being conducted. Let's wait for a specific time, and after that, I will provide a much more detailed statement on my stance, as there are professional, even narrowly professional questions involved," he said.
