Turks Shell Tal Abyad City, Where 16 Armenian Families Reside: Mkhtiar Hayrapetyan
Armenia's National Assembly member and former Minister of Diaspora Mkhtiar Hayrapetyan has stated on his Facebook page that he had a phone conversation with Armenia's Consul General in Aleppo, Armen Sargsyan, regarding the situation in Syria.
"As you know, Turkish forces have begun military operations in northern Syria. Considering that Armenian-populated areas in Syria are also under fire, I contacted Consul General Armen Sargsyan to gain information about the situation. Currently, the Turks are shelling the city of Tal Abyad, where 16 Armenian families live. It is planned to evacuate them soon. Additionally, Qamishli, which also has a large Armenian population, is under fire. I asked our consul to convey my support to the Armenian community, and I am praying for our compatriots living in Syria and our friendly Syrian people," Hayrapetyan wrote.
