ARF Condemns Turkish Criminal Regime's Military Actions
Once again, violating the internationally recognized rights of states and peoples, Turkey has openly launched military aggression in northeastern Syria. The Turkish aim of creating a so-called security zone threatens not only the territorial integrity of Syria but also the safety of the Kurdish majority living in those areas, as well as various national and religious minorities, including Armenians, and is aimed at creating a new demographic situation.
For a long time, Turkey has been sponsoring extremists operating in Syria, and under the pretext of fighting terrorism, it is now creating a new escalation of military operations, massacres, and displacement, alongside the resurgence of terrorist organizations and a new humanitarian disaster.
It is concerning that all this is happening during a period when international efforts are being made to foster an atmosphere of reconciliation and peace in Syria and to overcome internal conflicts. Even more alarming is the inadequate response of the forces and organizations involved in mediation processes to the new criminal actions of a state with a genocide record.
Therefore, the Bureau of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation:
- condemns the military actions undertaken by the Turkish criminal regime against a sovereign state and the genocidal tendencies against the Kurdish majority and national minorities;
- expresses its readiness to assist in ensuring the safety of our compatriots who find themselves in the immediate area of military operations and in providing necessary support;
- extends solidarity to the fraternal people of Syria and considers it essential for the regional powers and the international community to take effective steps to restrain the Turkish regime and ensure sustainable peace in the region.
