VIDEO: The Longest Gata in the World Tasted at Lake Kharab
Today in Lake Kharab, residents of Yerevan had the opportunity to taste the world's largest and longest gata. This traditional Armenian pastry measured 65 meters in length and weighed 410 kg, surpassing last year's record.
The Mayor of the Central Administrative District of Yerevan, Viktor Mnatsakanyan, who was present at the grand gata tasting, mentioned that this event was organized in accordance with our national traditions. He stated that it is truly a great gift to Yerevan and its guests.
According to the event organizers, the goal is to make the gata tasting an annual tradition, thereby promoting the popular ceremonial dishes of Armenian cuisine. After the welcoming remarks, the head chef measured the length of the gata, and the delicious Armenian treat was served and shared among the guests.
The tasting ceremony was attended by residents of Yerevan, tourists, and accompanied by national music.
