Vendetta Looms in Yeghgnadzor as Military Furious

According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, the tense atmosphere in the Vayots Dzor region following the notorious assault on Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkrtchyan shows no sign of dissipating. A vendetta looms in Yeghgnadzor.

The issue is that military personnel are united in asserting that whoever threw a stone at Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkrtchyan has effectively struck all officers in uniform and must answer not just to the law.

Sources inform that, in order to ease the situation in the region, the Armenian Ministry of Defense has had to send a group from the capital Yerevan. It is difficult to predict the outcome of these negotiations, especially since the progress of the criminal investigation does not satisfy the military side. The matter regarding the stone-throwing incident has, in essence, yet to be properly investigated.
