Car Goes Off Road and Rolls Down Hill on Gyumri-Bavra Highway
On September 6, at 2:04 AM, the emergency hotline received a call reporting an accident in the curves of the village of Pokrashen in Shirak Province, with casualties needing assistance from rescue services.
A firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.
It was revealed that a vehicle, an Opel Zafira (driver: Ashot Grigoryan, born in 1978), was traveling on the M-1 interstate highway at the 12th km mark between Gyumri and Bavra, when it veered off the road and rolled down a hill for about 80 meters.
Passengers included Siranush S. (born in 1971), Varsenik (born in 1960), and Rouzanna G. (born in 1965), Rouzanna M. (born in 1957), Ashot A. (born in 1989), and Arthur H. (born in 1990), all of whom were hospitalized at Gyumri Medical Center with various injuries, assessed as moderate severity.
Rescuers managed to disconnect the vehicle's battery and secure the gas canister.
