Crisis of Existence for Storks in Ararat Region During July-August, Says Ani Samsonyan

Member of the NA 'Enlightened Armenia' faction Ani Samsonyan has written on her page that there was a crisis of existence for storks in the Ararat region during the months of July and August.

"It all started when residents discovered blackened storks on the roads. Considering the numerous concerns of environmentalists and volunteers, I applied to the Ministry of Environment to find out what measures have been taken to identify and hold accountable those polluting the environment due to economic activities, as well as what actions the ministry is taking to prevent the imminent threat to storks.", the deputy stated.

She received a response that the characteristics of a crime provided for in Article 394 of the Criminal Code were present, and consequently, the prepared materials have been sent to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia.

It was also noted that during the cleaning operations for the storks, 20 storks were cleaned with the help of volunteers. Cleaning operations were also carried out in the canals responsible for the contamination of the storks. For more details, please refer to the document,” the deputy wrote.
