300,000 Dollars for Nubar Gulbenkian's 1966 Mercedes-Benz 600 Limousine
Sotheby's auction house has put up for sale a unique 1966 Mercedes-Benz 600 limousine, which was produced at the request of Armenian oil magnate Nubar Gulbenkian.
The key feature of the limousine is its glass roof, crafted by the Henri Chapron company. Additionally, the rear seat has been modernized so that it can be converted into a double bed.
A mini bar has also been installed for the rear passengers. Sitting in the back, Nubar Gulbenkian could easily monitor his driver's actions, thanks to a speedometer and fuel gauge dashboard placed in front of him.
After the oil magnate's death in 1972, the limousine ended up with his gardener and remained parked for nearly thirty years in a garage in Portugal. The unique vehicle has since changed hands several times.
For this car, sellers are expecting to receive at least 300,000 dollars.
