VIDEO: Police Detain Vehicle with Suspicious License Plates
The police service units continue their enhanced operations aimed at preventing and identifying crimes and administrative offenses, as well as maintaining public order. In this context, on August 27 at 1:10 PM, officers from the Ashtarak police division spotted a "Vaz-2107" vehicle with suspicious license plates 77 XX 777 on Tigran Mets Street.
The vehicle was immediately moved to a secure area of the Ashtarak police division. Law enforcement officials found that the 28-year-old driver, a resident of Tigran Mets Street in Ashtarak, had printed the specified license plates on paper using a computer and attached them to the vehicle. The legal plates registered in his name bore entirely different numbers.
According to the law on ensuring road traffic safety in Armenia, the driver was subjected to an administrative fine based on the characteristics of the article concerning the prohibition of vehicle operation. Concerned for public safety, the enhanced services of the territorial police units will continue to operate.
