The Earth's 'lungs' are burning: DiCaprio pledges $5 million to combat Amazon fires

The Earth Alliance environmental group, co-founded by Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, announced last week that it will provide $5 million to help extinguish the forest fires in the Amazon. The actor shared the news of his financial support on his Instagram page.

"The Earth's 'lungs' are burning. The forests of Brazil's Amazon, home to 1 million indigenous people and 3 million species of animals and plants, have been burning for two full weeks," the actor wrote.
