Brazil Withdraws Ambassadors from Vacation Due to Amazon Fires
Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recalled ambassadors from Europe and G7 nations on Monday from their vacations to coordinate a diplomatic response to the growing international concern over forest fires in the Amazon region. This was reported by Reuters.
The ministry has prohibited several ambassadors from taking leave amid global criticism directed at the country. According to the agency, the decision was made by the head of Brazil's Foreign Ministry, Ernesto Araújo, following an emergency meeting with the country's President Jair Bolsonaro.
It is worth mentioning that the intense fires in the Amazon forests have been ongoing for several weeks.
