Officials Speak of a Road Construction Boom, But Work Has Halted: Funds Are Not Being Disbursed

According to the newspaper "Hraparak", despite the local authorities discussing a boom in road construction, we have been alerted that work on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Bagratashen road, at the Armenian-Georgian border, has come to a standstill.

Construction workers report that payments are not being made on time, which is why they are unable to work at the planned pace. The main machinery that had been operating in various sections of the road under overhaul is currently idle. At present, work is being carried out on a smaller scale.
