Debris from Exploded Aircraft Engine Damages Houses in Nearby Towns of Rome
In Italy, the engine of a Norwegian Air Boeing 787 exploded in mid-air, causing debris to fall on adjacent neighborhoods, reports Corriere Della Sera.
According to preliminary information, the aircraft was on flight DY7115, traveling from Rome to Los Angeles. Shortly after takeoff, one of the plane's engines malfunctioned, prompting the aircraft to return to the airport.
It has been noted that small fragments from the explosion landed on roads and beaches. As a result of the incident, the upper parts of vehicles and houses in the Izola Sacra area were damaged. There were 298 people onboard the aircraft.
