Dozens of Participants Arrested at Rally in St. Petersburg
In St. Petersburg, near the "Gostiny Dvor" hotel, police have arrested 65 participants of a rally supporting a sanctioned demonstration for free elections in Moscow, as reported by meduza.io. The action took place in the format of solitary pickets. It has been reported that participants stood in turn holding placards.
Several journalists have also been detained. "Novaya Gazeta" has stated that their journalist Lilit Sargsyan was arrested during the demonstration. According to the source, around 300 people are currently gathered near the hotel.
On August 10, a sanctioned rally demanding free elections is taking place on Sakharov Avenue in Moscow.
