VIDEO: Why Has the Bagratashen Checkpoint Failed to Detect Radioactive Materials?

An inquiry is underway regarding the matter you raised. This was stated today, on July 25, during a press conference by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, David Ananyan, in response to a question about how, after the technical examination of the Bagratashen checkpoint, the Armenian side fails to detect radioactive materials while the Georgian side does.

“Well, see, an inquiry is underway regarding the issue you mentioned, and additional statements will be made based on the results of the investigation,” said Ananyan.

Let us recall that on July 16, the Armenian Embassy in Georgia reported that on July 11, employees of the Georgian State Security Service arrested an Armenian citizen, M.M., who was reportedly suspected of being the owner of the radioactive materials found at the Armenian-Georgian border.
