Court Proceedings Against Mother See Over 200 Million Dram Claim Begun
According to the newspaper "Hraparak", the court proceedings initiated by former MP Aragat Aghoyan against the Mother See have commenced. Recently, the first hearing took place at the Armavir General Jurisdiction Court. The second hearing is scheduled to occur on August 21.
The dispute between the former MP and the church authority stems from a construction order from several years ago. Aghoyan's construction company, "Spitak Kamar", carried out work commissioned by the Catholicos but has not been compensated. The claim concerns approximately 200 million drams.
Specifically, the work was performed on the building of the Gevorgy Arshakuni Theological Center. The legal demand is to compel the person responsible for the Mother See's economic division to sign the completion act and pay the owed amount. The court is still in the preliminary hearing phase, familiarizing itself with the materials.
