Tsarukyan Finds Common Ground with Departed Colleagues: New Details on BHK MPs' Situation

According to information from the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, it is expected that BHK faction deputies Vardan Ghukasyan and Tigran Urikhanyan will be present at today's extraordinary session of the National Assembly. Based on our information, the BHK members have convened to discuss how to resolve the issues concerning these two deputies, who have not attended National Assembly sessions for a significant period due to personal disagreements with BHK leader Gagik Tsarukyan.

According to our sources, Tsarukyan has made concessions and communicated to "mediators" that he urges the deputies to come to parliament.

Recall that on May 31, BHK faction deputy Vardan Ghukasyan gave an impromptu interview to Armlur.am and stated that the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, should be released. This statement angered Gagik Tsarukyan, and Ghukasyan was "informed" that he would not be allowed in parliament for a while. Subsequently, Ghukasyan stated in a conversation with us that he was not attending parliament due to health issues.

About a month later, Gagik Tsarukyan forgave Ghukasyan, but the deputy continues to uphold his position, and it is unclear what situation will arise if Ghukasyan is again asked about Kocharian's detention.

Regarding Tigran Urikhanyan's absence from parliament, this is also directly related to the Vice President of the Republican Party, Armen Ashotyan, whom Urikhanyan invited as a guest on his authorial program, which angered Tsarukyan and led him to urge the closing of the program, while informing Urikhanyan that he would not be allowed to see him.

It turns out that after lengthy negotiations among the BHK members, it has been decided to forgive both deputies so that they can attend parliament from now on.

Yesterday, "Zhoghovurd" spoke to BHK faction deputy Iveta Tonoyan, who stated: “In general, there is no issue within the BHK faction. Vardan Ghukasyan has stated that he is somewhat unwell, and I am more than confident that once he recovers, Mr. Ghukasyan will return to parliamentary activities. As for the issue concerning Tigran Urikhanyan, I have no information; there has not been an opportunity to discuss it, and I am informed only to the extent that he occasionally addresses this topic in his Facebook posts. Overall, there is no disagreement within the BHK.”
