Government to Pay 48 Million AMD Debt for Water Used by Kondi Villas
In today's cabinet meeting on June 27, the government decided to allocate 48 million AMD from the reserve fund to the Prime Minister's Office to settle the debt owed to Veolia Jur company for drinking water used by the "Kondi Villas Economy."
The issue was presented by the head of the Prime Minister's Office, Eduard Aghajanyan, who pointed out that the "Kondi Villas Economy" state non-commercial organization had accumulated a debt of 48.9 million AMD over the years to Veolia Jur LLC for the supplied drinking water. Due to security reasons imposed by the previous management of the organization, the company's employees were not allowed to enter the area to register the actual readings of the water meter.
Considering that the organization is a specially protected area, the bills for the services provided were issued based on the expenses verbally reported by the subscriber, without the opportunity to verify their accuracy. As a result of registering the water meter readings in the mentioned manner, by May 29, 2018, it amounted to 148,058 cubic meters, while on June 25, 2018, in the presence of the organization’s representative, a company employee recorded an actual reading of 473,012 cubic meters. This means that in one month, a consumption of 324,954 cubic meters was recorded, clearly indicating that the data provided by the organization did not reflect the actual consumption, resulting in an accumulated debt of 324,954 cubic meters over the years.
Upon the organization’s request, the water meter was subjected to verification, and no deficiencies were identified, confirming that it met the technical requirements. A working group has been established by the organization regarding this issue, and a mutual act has been drawn up with the company. By adopting this project, the organization will settle its financial obligation arising from the drinking water used during its activities.
