Results of Unified Foreign Language Exams Show 467 Applicants Failed

On June 14, graduating applicants took examinations in foreign languages. The applicants were tested in English, French, and German.

According to Khachanuš Grigoryan, the press secretary of the Assessment and Testing Center, out of 4,737 graduating applicants, 467 did not meet the threshold for a passing score, while 55 graduates achieved the maximum score of 20.

For the English language exam, 4,536 candidates participated (up from 2,183 in 2018), with an average score of 13.96 (compared to 14 in 2018). The number of those who did not meet the passing threshold was 447 (9.9% of participants), compared to 279 candidates (12.8% in 2018). Additionally, 1,126 candidates (24.8% of participants) scored between 18 and 20 points, an increase from 684 candidates (31.3% in 2018).

Specifically, 1,126 candidates received scores of 18-20. Among them, 566 scored between 18 and 18.75, 507 scored between 19 and 19.75, and 53 candidates achieved a perfect score of 20.

In the German language examination, 117 candidates participated (up from 81 in 2018), with an average score of 13.83 (compared to 14.9 in 2018). Thirteen candidates (11.1% of participants) did not meet the passing threshold (5 candidates in 2018, or 6.2%). Twenty-nine candidates (24.8% of participants) scored between 18 and 19.75, while no candidates achieved a score of 20.

For the French language exam, 84 candidates participated (up from 51 in 2018), with an average score of 15.16 (compared to 14.9 in 2018). Seven candidates (8.3% of participants) did not meet the passing score (3 candidates in 2018, or 5.9%). Twelve candidates (31% of participants) scored between 18 and 20, a slight decrease from 15 candidates (29.4% in 2018). Two candidates achieved a perfect score of 20.
