Video: What is vetting and how should it be implemented
On May 20, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in his speech that all judges operating in Armenia must undergo vetting.
“The public should have comprehensive information about a judge’s political affiliations and background, property status, activities in their judicial position and previous tenure, individual and professional characteristics,” the Prime Minister stated.
Karen Zadoyan, president of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, discussed with Iravaban.net what vetting is, its role in transitional justice, and the steps that should be taken for its implementation.
