Electric Vehicles to Be Produced in Georgia Within a Year
A factory for the production of electric vehicles will be built in Kutaisi, Georgia. This announcement was made by Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze.
According to the Prime Minister, the Chinese company Changan, which is the largest producer of electric vehicles in the world and a strategic partner of companies such as Volvo, Volkswagen, and Ford, has decided to construct a factory in Georgia and will launch its production on the market by 2020.
The factory's production capacity will be 40,000 vehicles, with 50% intended for the domestic market and the other 50% for export to European Union countries.
The new electric vehicles will bear the label 'Made in Georgia.'
