Human Rights Defender Warns of Possible Spread of Infections in Kindergartens Through Water Glasses and Bottles

The Human Rights Defender has raised concerns about the potential spread of infections in kindergartens through the use of water glasses and bottles. The Defender published photos on their Facebook page showing tea glasses and bottles placed on a table, and posed the question:

“Are you familiar with such scenes? Yes, these are the water glasses and bottles used by children in kindergartens.”

“Do you know that these methods of drinking water are risky in terms of infection spread, as children can easily drink from each other's bottles? Moreover, the ongoing monitoring by the Human Rights Defender has recorded that the bottles are mostly identical, and the logos are confusing.”

As a result, it is necessary to amend the Ministry of Health's Order No. 857 from 2002, to establish clear regulations regarding the use of drinking water by children in preschool educational institutions, considering the risks of infection spread. Such regulations could mandate that children be provided exclusively with individually usable glasses that are easily distinguishable from others or disposable cups,” the statement read.
