‘Whoever the taker is, if guilt is established, they must be punished to the full extent of the law’: Arsen Torosyan
The Minister of Health of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan, addressed the statement released by the National Security Service regarding the arrest of his deputy on his Facebook page.
“Without questioning the presumption of innocence, I want to state that whoever the taker is, if guilt is established within the framework of the case, they must be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Undoubtedly, such phenomena are unacceptable and condemnable. In the new Armenia, we must strive to eliminate them and build our future through honest work. Giving and taking bribes are punishable offenses in our country,” wrote the minister.
Arsen Torosyan stated that he supports law enforcement agencies in their fight against corruption. “We sincerely believe that exposing the corruption and other illegal phenomena that have taken root in the system will help eradicate them and sanitize the system,” Torosyan noted.
According to him, the entire team of the Ministry of Health expresses sorrow and regret for the incident.
