Police and Rescuers Were at the Right Place Just in Time: Citizen Attempting to Jump from Bridge

A recent emergency incident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 6:30 PM, officers Gevorg Martirosyan, Arsen Asatryan of the second police battalion’s third platoon, along with Nikolay Sarkisov from the Ministry of Emergency Situations rescue service, managed to prevent a citizen from committing suicide on a bridge in Artashat.

According to Shamshyan.com, the rescuer was returning home from work when several citizens stopped his vehicle and informed him that a man had crossed the dangerous edge of the bridge and was threatening to jump. The same citizens approached the road police officers stationed at the location to alert them as well.

The rescuer and the police officers approached the man and engaged him in a psychological conversation for about 10 minutes, successfully persuading him not to take that extreme step. Afterward, the road police transported the man in their service vehicle to Abovyan Medical Center.
