Dismissal of YSU Rector Scheduled for February 28: Did the NSS and Police Issue Instructions?
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports: "A meeting of the Board of Trustees of Yerevan State University (YSU) is scheduled for February 28, aimed at organizing the dismissal of the current rector, Aram Simonian.
The Board of Trustees at YSU consists of 32 members, with 16 appointed by the government and 16 by the university.
According to our information, in recent days, members elected by the university are being summoned by the police and the National Security Service (NSS) and are being strongly instructed to vote in favor of Simonian's dismissal during the council meeting. Meanwhile, Simonian is also meeting with the council members, urging them not to be afraid of pressure and to vote according to their convictions."
